It goes without saying that Ravi Shankar is a living legend. Even white rural 15-year old girls such as my former self can discover and appreciate what he did (at first via The Beatles, then with further research) for the western intoroduction to East Indian Music. Actually, I believe he was an important for-runner in the world music movement. It is up to you to praise him or blame him (haha)
